As part of PERC’s Propane Autogas Vehicle Inspection Grant Program, automotive instructors from across the country—alongside propane marketers partnered with participating schools—spend a day and a half immersed in both classroom instruction and hands-on lab work. They learn the essential principles of working safely with propane, using the same curriculum they’ll take back to their students. Instructors gain valuable experience with the autogas training aid that is provided as part of the grant program, and through conducting a vehicle inspection on autogas vehicles, building both knowledge and confidence in real-world propane applications.

What You’ll Learn
Instructors attending the Train the Trainer will be taken through the course, Propane Autogas Vehicle Inspection Training: Introduction for Automobile Service Technicians, an introductory course for automobile service technicians looking to understand propane autogas components, systems, and operations.
- There are four lessons in this course: Propane Fuel, Safety Considerations, Propane Vehicle Systems and Component Operation, and Vehicle Inspections.
- Hands on time with the training aid your school receives as part of the grant program.
- Small group work to identify the components of various autogas vehicles on site.
- Class is wrapped up by completing the end of program test that you will be providing to your students and going through the grant program requirements.
