RICHMOND, VA (January 2025) – Farmers nationwide can maximize savings with the Propane Education & Research Council’s (PERC) latest initiative, the 2025 Propane Farm Research Program (PFRP). Designed to address the evolving challenges of modern agriculture, the program empowers farmers with innovative propane-powered solutions to increase productivity, reduce costs, and promote sustainability.

Building on the former Propane Farm Incentive Program, the new PFRP introduces expanded opportunities for agricultural professionals to integrate cutting-edge technology into their operations. With increases of up to $10,000, additional equipment eligibility, and a streamlined application process, the program is more accessible than ever before.

“Farmers face mounting pressures to meet productivity and environmental goals while managing costs,” said Michael Newland, director of agriculture business development at PERC. “The Propane Farm Research Program is our commitment to helping farmers adopt clean, efficient energy solutions that directly support their bottom line and sustainability efforts.”

What’s New for 2025?
The PFRP introduces exciting updates:

  • Higher Amounts: $600 per liter displacement for industrial engines, $60 per kilowatt for prime power generators, and $30 per kilowatt for backup generators.
  • New Equipment Eligibility: A $2,000 incentive for propane-powered poultry house sanitizers.
  • Significant Savings: Farmers can now save up to $10,000 on qualifying propane-powered equipment purchases.

Farmers participating in the PFRP will not only receive financial support but also contribute valuable insights by testing the latest propane-powered technologies in real-world agricultural settings.

Why Choose Propane?
Propane’s cost-effectiveness, reliability, and environmental benefits make it a superior energy choice for farmers. Propane-powered equipment provides:

  • Cost Savings: Lower upfront and operating costs compared to diesel alternatives.
  • Reliability: Consistent performance during grid outages and extreme weather.
  • Sustainability: Fewer greenhouse gas emissions than other fuel sources.
  • Versatility: Applications ranging from irrigation engines to poultry house sanitizers.

Farmers can calculate their potential savings using tools like PERC’s Propane Cost Calculator, available at Propane.com/Irrigation-Cost-Calculator.
