WASHINGTON (July 19, 2022) – The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is hosting a new webinar, “Propane Autogas School Buses,” as part of its “Propane Presents Technology Series” beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Propane suppliers will learn how to best position their company to sell year-round autogas gallons to serve the school districts and children in their community.

During the live webinar, Stephen Whaley, director of autogas business development at PERC, will talk with Jennifer Goldbach of Rhoads Energy, Tim Gordon with Bluebird, Steve Lake with Southwest Allen County Schools, and Jim Bunsey of Superior Energy Systems. They’ll share insights into how propane suppliers can best approach a school district to make a sale, how to work with school bus manufacturers to get vehicles on the roads, and why propane autogas’s simple, cost-effective infrastructure can be a crucial part of the deal.

“Having these conversations about propane autogas school buses comes at a critical time,” said Whaley. “Thanks to the Clean School Bus Program, billions of dollars in government funds are on the table for school districts to invest in clean school buses. People may think electric is the answer, but it’s not. We want to continue propane autogas’s proven track record in school districts by making sure transportation directors know that as a clean, affordable energy source, propane autogas is an immediate solution to take advantage of those dollars.”

Today, more than 22,000 school buses are powered by clean propane autogas in 49 states. Additionally, 63% of school districts with Type C propane autogas school buses adopt additional propane buses, giving propane suppliers an opportunity to make an initial sale and continue growth.

PERC’s “Propane Presents Technology Series” focuses on new and emerging propane technologies, education, and best practices to approach the ideal customer. Hosted and facilitated by PERC, in partnership with various OEMs, the series aims to showcase various propane products across multiple markets, answer questions directly from the industry and end-users, and provide relevant resources and training information.
