WASHINGTON (December 7, 2020) – School transportation directors interested in learning more about alternative fuel school buses will have an opportunity to get their propane autogas questions answered on an upcoming webinar hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Clean Cities Coalitions, Roush CleanTech and the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). The “Mid-Atlantic Propane School Bus Success Story and Virtual Facilities Tour” will take place on December 8, 2020, at 1 p.m. EST.

“Transportation directors familiar with propane autogas and even those who are just starting their research will find value in this webinar,” said Ira Dorfman, executive director of the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition. “As a clean, affordable and available energy source, propane autogas can transform school bus fleets for the better.”

The school transportation director for Derry Township Schools in Hershey, Pennsylvania, will be available to answer questions and provide a virtual tour of the district’s propane autogas fleet and refueling infrastructure. The webinar will also include information on why more than 1,000 school districts have adopted propane autogas for their fleets and information on how fleet owners can maximize their funding.

“We continue to see that once transportation directors start to realize all the benefits of propane autogas — lower fuel and maintenance costs, reduced emissions, optimized performance, and the lowest refueling infrastructure costs of any energy source — they wonder why they didn’t adopt propane autogas sooner,” said Steve Whaley, director of autogas business development at PERC. “This webinar will provide transportation directors with the information they need to make that transition.”

While the webinar will specifically touch on funding opportunities for fleets in the Mid-Atlantic area, all transportation directors are invited to learn more about how propane autogas can benefit school bus fleets. Registration is now open at bit.ly/PropaneBusWebinar. A recording of the webinar will be sent out to registrants afterward.

The Mid-Atlantic Clean Cities Coalitions participating in the webinar include Delaware Clean Cities, New Jersey Clean Cities, Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance for Clean Transportation, Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities, Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition, Clean Fuels Ohio, Virginia Clean Cities, Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition, and Maryland Clean Cities Coalition.
