These are the names of the three consumer groups that the RMG program defines as key targets for the propane industry.

Within the consumer segmentation model used throughout the RMG program, the Transitional household accounts for 24% of all households in the U.S. The householder has an average age of 46. Average income is $30,138. This group is the most ethnically diverse of all groups.

Entry Level households account for 13% of all households. The householder has an average age between 25 and 64. Average income for this group is $44,612. About 80% of this group own their homes, although rates will vary based on local affordability.

Family Life households account for 6% of all households. The householder has an average age between 35 and 54. Average income for this group is $116,610. About 99% of this group own their homes. And as the name suggests, they average 2 children living in the home.
