The Propane Education & Research Council’s is currently offering double the 2019 Propane Farm Incentive Program amounts, which offers up to $5,000 off propane farm equipment to producers affected by recent Midwest flooding and Hurricane Michael. In addition, The Propane Farm Incentive Program can now be combined with an incentive from Focus on Energy and the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Energy Innovation to maximize savings. Focus on Energy and PSC WI-OEI are offering energy efficiency incentives for producers using propane to fuel specific equipment, including grain dryers, hot water heaters, greenhouse systems, and more. “If you’re looking to make the switch to propane or needing to replace existing equipment, now is an excellent time to make that purchase and save even more by taking advantage of both incentives,” said Mike Newland, director of agriculture business development at PERC. “On top of purchase cost savings, propane-powered equipment also costs less to operate and maintain, while delivering heavy-duty power, efficiency, and reducing emissions at the same time. There’s never been a better time to make the switch to propane.”

The Propane Farm Incentive Program is a nationwide research and demonstration initiative that offers farmers financial incentives toward the purchase of new propane-powered farm equipment. Sponsored by PERC, the program provides incentives to qualifying and selected farmers who purchase equipment in exchange for sharing feedback and real-world performance data. The program helps offset the costs of new agricultural equipment so that farmers can take advantage of propane technology.
