Reader & Swartz Architects, Winchester, Virginia

Reader and Swartz Architects builds homes with soul that connect the firm’s clients to the sun, mountains, and views. Almost all of their residential projects in the country have propane.

Reader and Swartz Architects has been building homes in the mid-Atlantic for 25 years, serving city dwellers who would like to have a place in the country. Partner Chuck Swartz doesn’t see his projects as commodities — they’re home places that his clients will remember for the rest of their lives. Propane allows his clients to heat their homes, have gas fireplaces, and cook the way they want to cook, all without sacrifice. “You can make the vision of where you want to live without lowering your standards to have it,” Swartz says.
