Comfort is a subjective measure, but it can play a major role in your customer’s satisfaction with their homes. In ACHR News, David Richardson covers five issues that can make an individual room less comfortable. The No. 1 factor? Inadequate airflow. “Airflow is one of the main attributes necessary for an HVAC system to properly deliver heating and cooling,” he writes. “When it is off, comfort problems run rampant.” Richardson also offers advice for uncovering the underlying issues in room discomfort. To rule out airflow as an issue, for instance, you’ll need to measure the air side of the system. “This begins with static pressure testing and evolves into airflow testing at the equipment and [in] individual rooms.”
