Micro combined heat and power (CHP) generators are a fascinating bit of ingenuity, but it’s a technology that cries out for a hands-on demonstration. It’s one thing to hear or read about a generator that can turn engine heat into thermal energy (not to mention, in most jurisdictions, being able to return all unused electricity to the main power grid); it’s another thing to be able to see something like this in action.
That’s all possible for those attending the 2011 International Pool/Spa/Patio Expo next week. Experts from Marathon Engine Systems, co-winner of the 2011 Energy Star Emerging Technology award for its ecopower™ microCHP generator, will be on hand at the Propane Innovation Pavilion (Bayside Halls Booth #4811) to describe how the ecopower fits outdoor living applications such as pool and spa heating.
The discussion of CHP technology is part of the training session titled “Outdoor Living with Propane,” which will be held at various times during the three-day show. The course will also cover new and innovative uses for propane in outdoor applications for gas equipment, including fire features, cooking appliances, and patio heating.
As usual, those not attending the show can take online training courses on the same topics at the Propane Training Academy. Just look for the Outdoor Living subject area.
